General and Canadian Experience Class draws typically happen every one to two weeks. Category-based draws (French, healthcare, STEM, trades, transport, agriculture) run alongside them and target specific occupations or qualifications, often with much lower CRS cutoffs.

The cutoff is set by how many candidates are in the pool and how many invitations IRCC decides to issue in that round. More invitations generally means a lower cutoff. Pool size, application volumes, and government targets all play a role.
